Features That Provide Networking Options

  • Multiple System Networking
Adtran adjunct networking solutions address centralized voice mail, coordinated numbering plan, and off-net toll bypass applications over a private network connecting multiple Strata DK telephone systems that function as one communication system.

  • Remote Expansion Cabinets
Expansion cabinets can be remotely located from the base cabinet, connected by fiber optic cables, to meet the needs of a distributed application. Configuration flexibility allows you to spread your system over a wider area.

  • Random Branch Office Extensions
The MCK EXTender 6000 enables groups of remote workers to have digital telephone extensions off the main location's Strata DK telephone system, with the same functionality as local extension users. Connection to the remote site may be by analog CO line, BRI, T1, or frame relay.
    Direct Inward System A
Connect a DK40i to another telephone system in a private communications network.

  • Direct Inward System Access (DISA)
Saves money by allowing employees to use the company's calling network even when they are not in the office. Protected by security code.

Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Features

  • Basic Rate Interface (BRI)
Station side connection provides a low cost ISDN solution enabling you to connect devices such as a PC, LAN bridge or router, Internet access device, video conference terminal, group IV fax, ISDN telephone, or other devices that benefit from an all digital transmission link. Trunk side connection enables BRI lines to be used by all telephones for incoming and outgoing calls (requires external NT-1 Terminal Adapter).

  • Primary Rate Interface (PRI)
PRI is used to send and receive voice and/or data calls over the same network. The call-by-call feature saves money by allocating PRI channels on demand for usage of services such as DID, Tie, FX, WATS, 800, etc.

  • Cost Saving Applications
PRI can save money by enabling the call-by-call use of the channels on the PRI link for a variety of services on demand. BRI provides a low cost solution for high speed LAN and Internet access, plus video conferencing applications. With its superior speed and faster call setup, ISDN helps you maximize productivity.

Computer Telephony Integration (CTI)

  • Industry Standard CTI
Microsoft TAPI has become the industry standard method of Computer Telephony Integration. Strata DK systems fully support TAPI, making your Strata DK system an excellent CTI partner.

  • Caller ID Applications
The most popular CTI applications involve Caller ID calls and automatic database lookup. When the phone rings, the telephone's LCD displays the caller's telephone number, and the TAPI PC application displays the caller's file. This saves time and enables you to provide better service to callers.

  • Data Switching
This cost-saving feature permits your PC and your telephone to simultaneously share existing wiring for voice and data calls, reducing the cost of additional interoffice networks and extra wiring.

Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP)

  • Cost-effective VoIP Applications
Toshiba Strata DK telephone systems integrate with voice over IP telephony gateway products that provide service enhancing and cost effective voice over IP applications targeted to small and medium size customers with multiple offices. Customers receive the benefits of much greater call center effectiveness and customer service capabilities that improve their business operation. They also benefit from office to office toll bypass calling that produces substantial cost savings.

  • Toll Bypass
Voice and fax traffic between a home office and branch office, normally routed through the public switched telephone toll network, is instead carried via the Internet or a private intranet in the form of IP packets. The benefit is cost savings by eliminating long distance toll charges between these locations, especially for international calls.

  • IP Call Center
One of the major expenses of a call center is the cost of incoming 800 lines. A call center can utilize the IP Voice Gateway solution to produce substantial savings by increasing incoming local calls and reducing incoming calls on 800 lines. This is done by setting up local point of presence (POP) locations so geographically dispersed customers dial a local access number, access the gateway, and route these calls via a private IP network and/or the public Internet to the call center instead of dialing a central 800 number. This makes these incoming calls local calls for customers and avoids 800 toll charges for these calls to the call center.

Features That Provide Efficient System Administration

  • Automatic Station Relocation
Enables a telephone to automatically maintain its particular characteristics when it is moved from one location to another, all without reprogramming.

  • Easy System Programming
Optional PC software makes system programming and administration easier and more efficient. DKiAdmin software provides full programming for technicians, and StrataControl software provides limited programming for end users.

  • Remote Maintenance
Allows off-site service personnel to alter system programming and test hardware from remote locations.

  • Battery Backup and Power Failure Transfer
Keeps the system fully functional in the event of commercial AC power failure.
